Gertrude Wills Warner
Gertrude Wills Warner died peacefully on Friday, June 4, 2010, at Gwynedd Square Nursing Center, Lansdale, PA. She was 91.
She was the beloved wife of 46 years to William David Warner Sr. who died August 25, 1985.
Born in Fitchburg, MA and raised in Hamilton, NJ, she graduated from Hamilton High School and the McKinley Hospital School of Nursing. Upon her marriage to William she moved to Bristol, PA. She was a resident of Landreth Manor, Bristol Township for 66 years. She was also a summer resident of Beach Haven Terrace, NJ for 39 years.
Mrs. Warner was the Republican Judge of Election in Edgely for 20 years. She was Mother Advisor for the Bristol Rainbow Girls, Chapter 22. She was a lifetime member of over 60 years of both the Eastern Star Morning Star Chapter #395 and the Amaranth Amy F. Schmidt Memorial Court #104 of Bristol. She was also a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Bristol, Pa.
Gertrude was the devoted mother of Carol Meiners (Ken) of Morrisville, William D. Warner Jr. (Margaret) of Hilltown and Jill Warner-Pedley (Tom) of Collegeville. She is also survived by her nine cherished grandchildren, Christopher South (Jackie), Stephanie Sorace, Noel Warner (Lori), Nicole Morgan, Gregory South (Ann-Marie), Christie Warner, Meredith Beaudry (Jeremy), Alison Pedley, Caitlin Pedley, two step-grandchildren, Lance Meiners (Heather), Tiffany Arbocus and 16 great-grandchildren. Gertrude was also survived by one sister Elizabeth Real (Ralph) of Deal, NJ, Holly Cunningham and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two sisters Edith Pilcher and Charlotte Piercy.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing at 11AM Wednesday June 9, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church 201 Mulberry St. Bristol, PA a service will immediately follow at 12:00pm at the Church with interment in Bristol Cemetery.
