Betty Jane Colgan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Betty Jane (Lovett) Colgan, age 94, of Tullytown, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Main Street, Tullytown, PA. Betty's family history and life was woven into the fabric of Tullytown. A direct descendent of Samuel Lovett and Mary Stokes, who arrived in Burlington, NJ in 1677. Betty counted relatives among Bucks County families of the Stokes, Webster, Wilson, Keller, Moon, Burton, Lippincott and others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer B. Colgan, Jr., her parents; "Leroy" Spencer Lovett and Clara Keller Webster, as well as, her eight siblings; "Leroy" Spencer Lovett, Jr., Mary Virginia Loudon, William Eseck Lovett, Joseph Ernest Lovett, Clara Mae Lovett, Albert Wilson Lovett, Verna Alice Lovett and Russell Earl Lovett. Surviving are three nieces, six nephews and her dear friend Emma Jones of Levittown, PA. Betty was a child of the depression, who learned early the lessons of self-reliance and frugality. She was the property owner for rental properties in Tullytown and held several outside jobs during her lifetime. One of which, she was especially proud of, involved the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, NJ. In her adolescence and long into her adult years, Betty was a caretaker for many family members and friends, who would spend their last days of life, under Betty's careful watch in the Lovett home, including her mother, Clara; sisters, Verna, Virginia and Clara "Mae"; her husband, Elmer; and her good friend, Mabel. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11:00am at the Tullytown Cemetery, 500 Main Street, Tullytown, PA 19007, under the direction of Molden Funeral Chapel & Cremation Service.
