John F. Bonner

May 23, 1937 - February 8, 2022

John F. Bonner, age 84, a lifelong resident of Levittown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. He was born in 1937 in Bristol, PA to the late Francis and Helen (McLane) Bonner. He was a proud graduate of Northeast Catholic High School, Class of '55. John honorably served in the United States Army from 1960-1966. John met his wife, Gloria (Lorah) Bonner and in 1966 they were married and enjoyed 55 wonderful years together. He was an insurance agent for Sun Life Insurance Company in Philadelphia, PA, retiring in 1992. John was a devout Catholic and a member of Holy Family/Queen of the Universe Church in Levittown, PA. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Bristol for over 50 years and served as president in 1966. He was an avid racehorse owner and loved sports as both a competitor and a fan. He enjoyed watching his Philly Sports teams. Most of all he enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and never missed a game or his granddaughter's Irish Dance recitals. His favorite hobby was woodworking, especially making pens and giving them to family and friends. Besides his parents, John is predeceased by his siblings; Claire King and her husband, Tom, Joseph Bonner and his wife, Kay and his brother-in-law, Cliff Nelson. He leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his wife; Gloria Bonner, his children; Sean Bonner and his wife Karen; Kevin Bonner and his wife, Stacy, his grandchildren; Shayne Bonner, Kyle Bonner and his wife, Brittany, Kelsey Castillo and her husband, Nick, Joel Bonner and Chase Bonner, his great-grandchild; Ava Bonner, his siblings; Barbara Nelson, Mary Ann Molnar and her husband, Bob, his cousin, Mary (Bonner) Wieczezynski and her husband Len, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and especially some very special neighbors. A committal service with military honors will be held on February 25th at 10:00am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
