Ruth Bachman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ruth L. Bachman of Bristol Borough passed away on May 14, 2022, at home. She was 96 years old. Ruth was born September 1, 1925, in Quakertown, Pa., to Harold and Naomi Heitz. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ken Bachman, and her son, Kenneth Bachman, Jr. Ruth will be dearly missed by her daughters, Karen McIlvaine and her husband, Ed; and Barbara Knight and her husband, Paul. She had four grandchildren, Michael McIlvaine and his wife, Melanie; Patricia Everhart and her husband, Jake; Julie Knight; and Kenneth Knight and his wife, Andrea. She also had five great grandchildren, Kasey McIvaine, Heath Everhart, Madelynn Knight, Carson Knight, and Olivia Knight. Ruth is a graduate of Quakertown High School and Moravian College. After marriage, Ken and Ruth moved to New York City. Ruth worked as a lab technician while her husband attended NYU. They shared many fond memories of life in New York City. In 1953, Ken and Ruth moved to Bristol, Pa., where they raised their children. Ruth was active at Harriman United Methodist Church in Bristol. She was the church secretary for many years. Ruth was also a member of various church committees. She especially enjoyed her membership in the United Methodist Women's Group-monthly potluck dinner meetings, bake sales, church luncheons, and service projects. Ruth enjoyed staying in touch with high school and college friends. She had many loving friends at church, friends in Bristol who kept in touch, and friends who went to Bristol High School during her husband's tenure as band director. Family and friends are welcome to join in celebrating Ruth's life at a viewing that will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, at the Molden Funeral Chapel, 133 Otter Street, Bristol. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, at Harriman United Methodist Church, Wilson Avenue, Bristol. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Quakertown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Harriman United Methodist Church.
